A European manufacturer of automatic irrigation and sprinkler trucks contacted BG Motor to develop a customized motor solution for its new energy-saving model. The customer’s irrigation vehicle is widely used in urban landscaping, agricultural irrigation, and dust suppression. The client wanted to replace its traditional hydraulic pump system with a high-performance electric motor to achieve quiet operation, lower energy consumption, and improved reliability under harsh outdoor conditions.
BG Motor was selected because of its long experience in customized DC and brushless DC motor solutions for mobile equipment, water pumps, and intelligent irrigation systems.
Continuous operation and high torque demand
The sprinkler pump required a motor capable of continuous operation for 8–10 hours daily. The existing AC motor could not handle the thermal load and suffered frequent overheating.
Harsh outdoor working environment
The irrigation truck often operated in high humidity, dust, and heat. The previous motor design failed due to poor waterproofing and bearing corrosion.
Unstable speed under variable load
The water pressure fluctuated with terrain and flow changes, resulting in unstable rotation speed and uneven water spray.
Noise and vibration issues
The customer needed lower operating noise since the irrigation truck worked in urban and residential areas.
Compatibility with smart control system
The new design needed to integrate with a variable frequency or PWM control system for precise flow and pressure adjustment.
After analyzing the client’s working conditions and vehicle layout, BG Motor engineers designed a custom brushless DC motor system for the irrigation pump.
