When pairing a battery with a motor, the goal is to ensure voltage, current, power, size, and usage scenario compatibility. Here’s a clear and simple guide for matching BG Motor products with battery systems:
The battery voltage must match the motor’s rated voltage range.
For example:
If using a DC Brushless Motor rated at DC 24V, use a 24V battery pack (e.g. 6S Li-ion battery = 6×4.2V = 25.2V max).
The battery discharge current (C-rate × capacity) must exceed the motor's peak current demand.
Example:
A 500W motor at 24V needs ~20.8A at peak (500W ÷ 24V). Use a battery capable of at least 25A continuous output for safety margin.
Choose battery capacity (Ah) based on runtime needs.
Example:
10Ah battery with a 5A draw gives ~2 hours of runtime.
Pair motors with suitable motor drivers or controllers that match both battery and motor specs.
